About Defend
A 50/50 blend of our farm-grown Reishi and wild-foraged Turkey Tail, Defend combines two of the most researched immune-supporting mushrooms into one daily tincture.
Reishi — the most well-studied medicinal mushroom, in use for more than two thousand years via Traditional Chinese Medicine. Reishi contains high concentrations (~50% by dry weight) of beta-glucans, extensively studied for their immune-modulating and anti-inflammatory effects, along with triterpenoids, studied for antiviral, anti-inflammatory, and organ-protective properties.
Turkey Tail — one of the most widely distributed mushrooms on Earth. Turkey Tail also contains high concentrations (~60% by dry weight) of beta-glucans, which support immune system function, and is a rich source of prebiotics that feed beneficial gut microflora and support healthy digestion.

Worth the drive
My friends and I had an awesome time at this bountiful mushroom foray. We visited from New Orleans and learned about some new and familiar species in Georgia. I was attracted by the foraging and but enjoyed observing and practicing some cultivation techniques. Sam is a great teacher with a very accessible speaking style. I recommend for newbees and intermediate. The forest on their property was full of great finds, fungal and beyond. The delicious lunch Sophie made and bonding with like-minded fungi nerds made it all the more special! I only wish there will be a medicine making workshop in the future.
